How to become a Lion?

Step 1: Attend one of our member meetings or service activities to experience what Lionism is all about.

Step 2: Be sponsored by one of our active members

See our list of members


Step 3: Fill out the Lions Clubs International membership application

Step 4: Get inducted as a new member at our annual Installation of Officers and Induction of New Members event, or at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Become a Lion

Annual Membership Dues

Club Level

The annual membership dues of the South San Francisco Golden Gate Lions Club is $110/year, payable to South San Francisco Golden Gate Lions Club and mail to the Club Treasurer.

Discounted dues of $100/year are offered to:

  • Members of a "Family Unit" (additional members living in the same household as a regular member)
  • Students
  • Former Leos (Leo-Lions) under the age of 35

There are additional special criteria for reduced dues, which can be found on Lions International. Generally, former Leos (Leo-Lions).

New members will also need to pay a one-time entrance fee of $35.

Onboarding Lions

As a Lion member, you join a huge community of fellow Lions and clubs spread throughout the world. The South San Francisco Golden Lions Club is a member of District 4-C4, which comprises of all Lions clubs in San Francisco County, San Mateo County, and the city of Palo Alto. This is all under the overarching umbrella of Lions Clubs International, our global service organization. There are many ways to get involved in the many levels of Lions Clubs.
